Agent Spotlight: Ryan Kirkpatrick
Today, we are spotlighting Ryan Kirkpatrick – Broker/Owner at Olive Tree Real Estate Group. Ryan has been in the real estate business for over 10 years now and has also taken his passions to the building side of real estate with Covenant Realty Home Builders. Read on to learn a little more about Ryan!
What motivates you about real estate and why are you so energized by it?
I am for a couple of reasons that I’ve looked inside and found over the years. Up front, many (not all) get into this business because they would like to make a living, doing something they enjoy and taking care of people along the way. I was this person, but in addition – I have a really deep desire to grow as much as I can in my life. When I get to the end of my own journey, I don’t want to have a case of the shoulda, woulda, couldas. Creating a brokerage that is highly relational and building high end custom homes connects with who I really am. At a heart level – I am a courageous, responsible man who is willing to take ownership of all of his decisions. Wherever that leaves me at the end of the day – I can be happy with that person. I receive energy from giving it authentically to those I choose to surround myself with. In return, I get even more back. Real estate is just the medium to live my own art and passion with this.
Tell us something people don’t know about you?
Many of my friends know I’ve played tennis since I was 9 years old. Most people however don’t know that I lived at John Newcombe’s tennis academy in New Braunfels my junior year in high school. This allowed me to keep improving and appreciate the game of tennis even more. I’m very competitive as many know and was ranked inside the top 10 in Texas from 12’s to 18’s before playing for Ouachita Baptist and the University of Oklahoma.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of living out of my heart in the most real and genuine way possible with the people closest to me in my life. That starts with being a husband to Jessica, dad to a precious girl named Jenna and a little boy named Jackson Wyatt. For the Tombstone fans of the group – yes, my wife Jessica approved of the middle name of Wyatt after the character Wyatt Earp. I get warm fuzzies just saying it.
What is one quote that best sums up your approach to life?
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
Dr. Suess
If this is really confusing to you, ask me what it means to me! It goes very deep in my story.
What is your most bizarre talent?
I can literally NOT BLINK for hours if I want to. I use my Irish Blue Eyes to negotiate in person when it helps my clients and sometimes just for fun. 🙂 Oddly enough, the only person really immune to this Blue eyed stare down is my wife, Jessica. She’s on to me I think.
What is your favorite place to go when you have no plans or obligations?
I’m very hard to find when I don’t want to be found. Only a few people know my secret, but I’ll tell you how I get away. At least one night a week usually, if you come up to the indoor courts at Canyon Creek around 10 p.m. or later…you’ll see me hitting balls on the machine with the blue tooth speaker kicked up to a “healthy” volume. Pandora is blaring and it’s all Country.
A big thank you to Ryan for sharing more about himself with us!
